THE FINAL AGONY AND THE BATTLES OF A SOUL

THE FINAL AGONY AND THE BATTLES OF A SOUL
THE FINAL AGONY AND THE BATTLES OF A SOUL …
⚜ IT IS ACCOMPLISHED !
It has been often said that the greatest stories are those that go to the grave untold, and so are the greatest songs for if life is a test then death itself is a testimony. Our Last moments on earth hold a wealth of knowledge for those who are left behind, and also for us concerning where we are headed.
These moments are times of self examination i.e. revision of life lived as we prepare for the final exam i.e. The Judgement of the life lived but even greater is the judgement based on faith for did Christ Himself not say Let it be done to you according to your Faith?
Interesting point to start with no doubt for we must consider unto whom these words were told and the circumstances i.e. the request of Miracle. In this case I pick the healing of Bartimieus who was touched twice and thus healed twice.
The first healing: Upon Christ’s touch in Life the blind man could see, but he saw people looking like trees, trees from which crosses are made of. And this depicts our life experiences, for the people around us are indeed crowns of thorns just as the Jews became a Crown of Thorns for Christ.
The Second Healing: Healing in death (Final Agony). When Bartimieus told Christ He saw people looking like trees, he was touched once more and in this touch his vision cleared and thus was able to see Truth, that these very crown of thorns are our crowns of Glory in Heaven, that the Cross isn’t a curse but a thing of Beauty and Grace.
Now lets get into the Final Agony in the light of this revelation, in the light of the Ressurection and in the Hope of Eternal Life With God. At this point we arrive at Gethsemane, in Prayer and Agony of Christ… The Sorrowful Mysteries.

These are Mysteries of Beauty for Christ reveals our human nature in Himself, a nature predisposed to fleeing pain, and in it He Teaches us surrender to the Divine Will of God… Father let not My Will but Yours be Accomplished.
What is the Divine Will? Bearing in Mind Christ’s Miracles are about Forgiveness, Healing and Feeding, we thus must visit Calvary to comprehend what it looks like at final agony. Here we encounter the good thief, who acknowledges both his sinfulness and God’s righteousness in Christ, begging for Mercy and Grace, Touch me Once More Lord.
In this acknowledgment, Acceptance of the judgement and punishment is right (I have deserved this and more by my deeds) but more so is the Acceptance of Grace, Christ did all this for Me in His Passion and Death thus I am Redeemed.
Finally comes the Appreciation o Gift of Eternal Life, A Love so Powerful that it heals all the past wounds and then we see that the trials and tribulations of life were but tests for the testimony, an invite to know God and Love Him.
Indeed too late have we known Him, but forever More we Must Love Him. Thus Christ Says… It is Accomplished, For Salvation, Redemption and Eternity are an Act of Grace by which all are saved.
What then of the Scourging at Pillar? This is the neccessary part of detachment and mortification in the invite so that we are cleansed and dressed for the Beautiful Feast as Isaiah says, Made white as snow even though sins be red as scarlet.
Of Crowns of thorns we already have learnt they are but our crowns of Glory when we walk in the Humility of Love and Grace. For are we not all created in God’s Image, Likeness and Divinity? When Christ suggests removing the Log from our eyes, He alludes to these Crowns for we are mirror Images of each other, that we can declare with David, then I will teach transgressors Your Ways and sinners will return to You by practice of Mercy we Recieve.
The Crosses and People looking like Crosses is an Invite to Pilgrimage after Christ. For did He not say so Himself when He Invites us to Follow Him by picking up our daily Crosses in the Imitation of Him? At Calvary He also taught us to Pray; Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.
Above all though, we shall and must never forget our Blessed Mother for this Journey begins and ends with Her Fiat.
Amen.
